You are working out hard but you feel like the scale, your body and your results are going nowhere. The Culprit that is preventing you from getting results might even be in your workout.
MISTAKE #1 – BURN OUT
If you don’t rest, your muscles will not grow and your body will feel weaker. Overtraining doesn’t only lead to feeling exhausted but can also lead to injuries due to bad form. If you are feeling achy the best thing to do is create space in your body and mind. Some of our most successful clients go for walks/light jogs on the beach or hike to stay active. This is what we like to call active rest.
MISTAKE #2 – ONE MUSCLE AT A TIME.
This is huge myth that goes down inside big box gyms, that you should train one muscle per day. Here is the only problem with that, every movement you do is composed of many muscle groups. So when you are only doing bicep curls, you are only getting your bicep strong, and when you grab or pick up something you don’t only use your bicep, do you? Stick to workouts like deadlifts, squats, pull-ups, and lunges.
MISTAKE #3 – LIGHT WEIGHT
Strength training requires you to feel some sort of resistance on the muscle you are working out. You have to put stress son your body. So next time you automatically go for the 5 pound weights just remember that you are limiting your results by going light. Use a weight you can manage to do for 8-12 repetitions. If you can do more than 12, it might time to go heavier.
MISTAKE #4 – AUTOPILOT
You do the same workout over and over and over. You wonder why nothing changes. Well you are use to it and to be honest you probably are not pushing yourself like you know you can.
